Focus Points

What are Focus Points?

Focus points are one of your most valuable resources in Albion Online. They are used in two major areas: 1) crafting and refining, and 2) farming.

1. Crafting and Refining

When crafting or refining, spending Focus Points allows you to increase the return rate of materials, as well as increasing your chances of crafting higher-quality items. For instance, when refining stone in Fort Sterling, you get a 15% return rate of materials. But if you enable Focus, you get a 44% return rate! That almost triples the resources you are getting back from crafting.

Remember, the more specialization you have in crafting an item, the less Focus it costs to craft it! This means higher-level crafters can get far higher resource returns daily.

2. Farming

In farming, Focus can be used to either nurture animals (which results in a higher offspring yield percentage) or water crops (which results in a higher seed and earthworm yield). A farmer without Focus is a poor farmer indeed!

How to Use Focus Points:

Crafting/Refining/Studying: Check the "Focus" box at the bottom of a crafting/refining/studying window before you start the process.

Farming: Click on already-placed animals or crops to open a new window. Here you will have the option to "nurture" (animals) or "water" (crops), increasing your chances of baby animals from livestock and seed output from crops.

Why is Focus so important?

Almost all profitable crafting and farming in Albion Online is done with focus.

The Resources returned from using focus is essential to make crafting those items profitable. Items crafted without focus will usually cost more to craft than the end product, while items crafted with focus can potentially earn a lot of silver.

Likewise, when Farming, seed return is essential to keeping farming a profitable activity. Needing to rebuy seeds is an expense that cuts into profits, or makes farming those needed resources more expensive. A wise farmer always uses Focus Points.

How to Gain Focus Points:

Focus Points generate automatically while you have Premium Status active. While your character has Premium status, you will generate 10,000 Focus Points per day. When you reach 30,000 Focus Points, you will not gain any more until some have been spent. Focus Points regenerate gradually over time, meaning that if you are out of focus points for a particular crafting or farming scenario, you can wait several hours and they will be partially recharged. Most wise crafters and farmers make sure that they never fill up on Focus Points because every lost focus point is a lost resource.
